Welcome to the 2013 WholeFoods Magazine Source Directory, the largest and most comprehensive directory of information in the health and natural products industry.

The Source Directory—with 2,000+ listings of industry companies and organizations—is an invaluable reference tool that will be helpful to keep close at hand during the next 12 months. Also available is the newly launched Source Book Online (http://directory.wholefoodsmagazine.com), with expanded listings and microsites filled with product images, videos, white papers, sales sheets and more. This site is frequently updated, so be sure to bookmark it for easy reference throughout the year.

To make the best use of the print Source Directory, take a few minutes now to familiarize yourself with how it is arranged. The directory begins on Page 14 with a comprehensive Source Directory Index that will help you locate the main sections of the directory (in boldface type) and product categories.

We have separate listings for Industry Suppliers (those that offer raw materials, ingredients, contract manufacturing and so forth) and for Manufacturers/Importers/Growers (those that sell finished, branded products to distributors and/or retailers).

Following the Index are alphabetical listings of Distributors, Brokers, Publishers, Associations and Consultants/Service Companies.

Throughout the company listings, you will find bold-type listings, which indicate companies that have an advertisement in this issue. To find the ad, refer to the Ad Index on Page 256 and use the Reader Service Card, bound in at Page 32, to request information from the company throughout the next year.

You’ll also find quick response, or QR, codes in company listings that look like this:

Just scan the QR code with your smart phone or tablet to land directly on an advertiser’s digital directory listing.

Next is the heart of the Source Directory—the Product Directories. Beginning on page 32 are some 300 product categories divided into six sections: Foods, Dietary Supplements, Herbs, Health & Beauty Care (HBC), Manufacturing Equipment/Services and Miscellaneous. A listing of product categories is available in the handy Source Directory Index on Page 14.

Under every product heading are lists of Manufacturers/Importers/Growers that provide that item. To find contact information for a particular company, simply use the alphabetical listing of Manufacturers/Importers/Growers beginning on Page 119.

Behind the Manufacturers/Importers/Growers product listings, beginning on Page 160, are the Industry Suppliers Product Directories—arranged the same way as the Manufacturers/
Importers/Growers Directories. These listings refer readers to companies that offer raw materials, product ingredients, manufacturing, packaging and labeling equipment, and contract manufacturing and private label services to manufacturers, importers and exclusive distributors of finished, branded products. To find contact information for these companies, refer to the alphabetical listing of Industry Suppliers beginning on Page 221.

The Source Directory also lists Brand Names (see Page 238) to help readers identify suppliers of products for which they know only the trade name.

Don’t forget that you can also access this directory as a flip book at http://www.wholefoodsmagazine.com.

The Source Directory is as complete as we could make it. Nevertheless, we realize that in any undertaking of this size, in a field as fluid as the natural products industry, some errors are bound to occur. For this reason, we plan to publish an addendum in the near future. If you spot any errors, please let us know about them as quickly as possible by e-mail (kaylynnebner@wfcinc.com). Companies can also update or add listings at any time at http://directory.wholefoodsmagazine.com; contact us with questions about digital listings. Thank you.
