Boulder, CO-based GoodBelly has redesigned the packaging for its line of family-sized quarts of probiotic juice. The new package is predominantly black and is designed to emphasize the product more clearly.
 
New Seasons Market, a 12-store chain in the Portland, OR-Vancouver, WA area and 2009 WholeFoods Retailer of the Year, has become the first grocer to achieve B Corp. certification, given by the non-profit B Lab to companies that “meet rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency.”
 
Dean Foods, Dallas, TX, will shut down its 91-year-old Shenandoah’s Pride brand and close the Springfield, VA plant that produced the brand’s dairy products.
 
B&G Foods, Inc. has acquired Pirate Brands, Sea Cliff, NY for approximately $195 million from VMG Partners, Driven Capital Management and Robert Ehrlich, who founded the company in 1987. Pirate Brands offers three brands of snack foods: Pirate’s Booty, Smart Puffs and Original Tings.
