The Republic of Tea is introducing a new line of 68 full-leaf loose tea varieties. This type of tea offers a more intense tea flavor, says the company. Some of the new flavors being offered include Coconut Pu-Erh, Keemum 1110, and Milk Oolong.

Of the two words making up the term “functional food,” the operative one in a commercial sense is most definitely the latter. Like Tofutti’s Better Than Cream Cheese, Sour Supreme and Veggie Cheese Slice products, it also is gluten free and vegan. Tofutti’s Better Than Ricotta Cheese lends itself to all your favorite recipes such as lasagna, stuffed shells, and cheesecake. The product will soon be available in stores everywhere in 16-ounce containers and in a 5-lb food service size.

Living Harvest Foods is excited to introduce Tempt, a gluten and soy free non-diary frozen dessert made from hemp in four flavors (Coffee with Cream Swirls, Vanilla with Fudge Swirls, Chocolate Fudge and Vanilla with Blueberry Pom). Each bar is 100 calories per serving, with four servings in each container. The bars are also vegan, tree-nut free, Kosher, trans fat free, cholesterol free, low sodium and Non-GMO. The company says, “Do the hemp thing.”

 

Hodgson Mill introduced its new gluten-free seasoned coating mix that can be used on chicken, pork chops, beef, seafood, vegetables and in gravies. This product, according to the company, is a healthy alternative to wheat products and is a delicious way to get creative with meals.

 

Bob’s Red Mill introduces four new granolas that are sure to satisfy any granola lover. The four new flavors are apple blueberry, honey oat, cinnamon raisin and natural. They can be served hot or cold and contain whole grains and other nutrients essential to your health. The cinnamon raisin and honey oat have under seven grams of fat per serving, and the other two flavors contain only two grams of fat per serving. At under 200 calories, these granola products are a healthy way to spice up one’s diet.

Pamela’s Products has come out with four new snack bars that are nutritious as well as tasty. The new flavors are Oat Blueberry Lemon, Oat Chocolate Chip Coconut, Oat Cranberry Almond, and Oat Raisin Walnut Spice. Agave and coconut sugar sweetens these bars, which are rich in antioxidants and omega-3s as well as fiber. They are low in sodium, cholesterol, and are gluten-free, dairy-free and all natural.
