OMEGA-7s

Barlean’s has released its new Heart Remedy and Joint Remedy Concentrated Omega-7 Supplements. The omega-7 group of fatty acids is very rare in nature, traditionally found in macadamia nuts, sea buckthorn berries and cold-water fish. The omega-7 most commonly researched for health purposes is called palmitoleic acid, believed to have several beneficial properties including serving as an anti-inflammatory agent. While many natural sources of omega-7 contain palmitoleic acid, they also can contain palmitic acid, a component found in palm oil that can potentially be harmful to the body. These new purified Omega-7 supplements contain 50% pure palmitoleic acid and less than 1% palmitic acid, thus minimizing any potential health risk.

The Heart Remedy Omega-7 benefits heart health by supporting healthy levels of HDL, known to some as the “good” cholesterol. HDL can break down bad cholesterol to keep cells clear and healthy. In addition, purified Omega-7 has been shown to significantly impact inflammation in the arteries due to buildup, leading to lower levels of C-reactive protein (CRP). CRP represents strong risk factor for heart disease and stroke.

The Joint Remedy Omega-7 not only helps support the nervous system and joints, but also contains 40 mg of hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a carbohydrate that is naturally present in the human body, and helps provide cushioning for the joints, as well as lubrication and hydration for body tissue.

Both Barlean’s Heart Remedy and Joint Remedy are available in two formats: the smoothie-like Omega Swirl, and easy-to-swallow mini-softgels. These supplements are also gluten-free and non-GMO.
