Bloomingdale, IL – Elwood Richard, founder of NOW, received the American Herbal Products Association (AHPA) AHPA Visionary award on March 9thfor his “pioneering and unprecedented efforts to promote the benefits of herbs and herbal products.”

During the award presentation, AHPA president, Michael McGuffin stated, “It is difficult to think of another individual who has had as much of an impact on the herbal products industry. Elwood’s dedication to value and quality, and his unwillingness to compromise, helped set a high standard for the industry.”

Due to health reasons, Richard was unable to attend the ceremony, but his son, Dan Richard, accepted the award on his father’s behalf. Dan is also the national sales manager for NOW.

“My father strongly believed in empowering people to take control of their own health and well-being and dedicated his career to that end,” said Dan. “He has never been satisfied with basic levels of quality and research and always pushed the envelope to ensure the highest quality products.”

NOW, which has been a member of the AHPA since 1991, offers more than 1,400 natural dietary supplements, foods, and personal care products. The company’s goal is to provide safe products to customers while keeping affordability and quality on a high standard. AHPA acknowledged these efforts while presenting Richard with the award, which is based on “substantive and positive contributions to the herbal products industry.”
