An international custom enzyme formulator and probiotic-based contract manufacturer, Deerland Enzymes, based in Kennesaw, GA has created “Digestible,” an educational content portal within their DeerlandEnzymes.com website. “This site is a hub for all things enzyme and probiotic. Our goal is to provide a wide variety of educational information related to formulating and manufacturing digestive health supplements,” said Kristin Wilhoyte, director of marketing communications for Deerland Enzymes in a press release. Digestible content will be presented in four sections of importance to the industry: Chew with the Experts, Easy to Swallow Science, Gut Reactions and Market Breakdowns. Information on the site will be updated frequently as the industry changes.

New Crop Capital and NewYork-based BeyondBrands have joined forces on a plant-based meat alternative venture. The partnership hopes that management support and funding will assist in accelerating growth and innovation in the development and distribution of new products. Chris Kerr, investment manager at New Crop Capital, believes that the partnership with BeyondBrands will serve as a model for upcoming collaborations with other members of the food industry. Kerr’s other investments include Beyond Meat, Lyrical Foods and Miyoko’s Kitchen. With a focus on better-for-you-brands, BeyondBrands works in the areas of beauty, beverage, food, lifestyle, medicinal cannabis and nutraceuticals. The first collaborative efforts between New Crop Captial and BeyondBrands will be revealed in the summer of 2017.
