Schiff Nutrition will now use the Marine Stewardship Council eco-label on its MegaRed Omega-3 Krill Oil. This product contains Superba krill oil from Aker BioMarine, headquartered in Oslo, Norway.

Carthage, MO-based Membrell LLC is now the exclusive retail distributor for Allera Health Product’s ImmunExtra supplement. This product contains all-natural Proligna pinecone extract.

Virginia retailer Nature’s Outlet was the winner in the “Win a Date with Terry Lemerond,” sponsored by EuroPharma, Inc. of Green Bay, WI. Terry Lemerond (Europharma president and founder) provided staff education at several Nature’s Outlet stores and treated employees to dinner. Customers were given an evening lecture.

Watsonville, CA-based Nordic Naturals has built a new 87,000-ft2 LEED Gold certified facility. The company says its headquarters with warehouse and fulfillment is “the largest LEED Gold certified building in the tri-county area and sits amid 108,500 square feet of undisturbed wildlife habitat.”

More than $15,000 has been donated to the Natural Products Foundation (NPF) in honor of John R. Carlson, in accordance with family wishes. According to a press statement, “These contributions will further the work of NPF, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to research and education concerning natural products.”

The American Herbal Products Association of Silver Spring, MD will now have a Tea Products Committee. Wilson Lau, of nuherbs Co., will chair the committee.

NBC’s The Today Show featured Hyaluronic Acid Rehydrating Serum from Simi Valley, CA-based derma e Natural Bodycare on its October 20 segment of “Look Better in the Morning.”

Wise Essentials Marketing (WEM, www.wiseessentialsmarketing.com) is a new firm that helps natural products businesses with social media marketing, mobile Web sites and integrating all marketing efforts. The firm says it is equipped to help these companies engage with their customers in business-to-business and business-to-consumers outreach. Owner Melinda Bonk also conducts workshops, gives lectures and trains staff in-house.

Ocean Nutrition Canada of Dartmouth, NS, Canada, received the highest scores among labs in an evaluation by the American Oil Chemists Society proficiency program, earning an Honourable Mention.

Ojai, CA-based Nourish America received the funding to buy prenatal vitamins for more than 1,000 low-income mothers in California and Montana through ACTIVATE Drinks’ “Buy One Feed Two” campaign.
