Anaheim, CA—Six eager companies are waiting to find out if they have won this year’s NutrAward, an annual award that honors firms that have invested in “rigorous and measurable scientific studies to prove the efficacy of their proprietary ingredients or technologies.”

The 2010 award is slightly different than previous years because it will recognize finshed products that include a functional ingredient as well as new ingredients.

Nominees for Best New Ingredient are: FAST-C (buffered vitamin C), Cereboost (American ginseng) from Naturex and PromilinPRO (fenugreek seed) from TSI Health Sciences. The three products up for the new Best New Finished Product award are: Nevella (probiotics) from Ganeden Biotech, Vectomega (whole food omega-3 DHA/EPA complex) fronow foodsm EuroPharma Inc. and VitaPQQ (pyrroloquinoline quinine) from Quality of Life Labs. Winners will be chosen based on industry voting and will be recognized on March 13, 2010 at Expo West.
