BioPerine, a black pepper ingredient from Sabinsa Corporation of East Windsor, NJ, now has self-affirmed GRAS status. The company also announced that its manufacturing facility in Bangalore, India achieved good manufacturing practices registration through NSF International.

EPAX AS, headquartered in Aalesund, Norway, announced the launch of a new Web site www.epax.com/EcoVision to house information about the company’s “eco-vision, explaining why and how the company sees itself as a steward of the ocean.” The site outlines EPAX’s sustainability, traceability and accountability efforts.

InterHealth Nutraceuticals’ UC-II undenatured type II collagen ingredient is included in a new product from Nordic Naturals (Omega Joint Xtra).

Lipowheat oil, distributed through P.L. Thomas of Morristown, NJ, has achieved new dietary ingredient status through the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, which was filed without objection. According to the company “Lipowheat oil is the only source of natural ceramides on the market with an NDI on file.”

Blauvelt, NY-based RFI Ingredients now offers fair trade-certified spirulina and chlorella. The Institute for Marketecology awarded the company the Fair For Life Social and Fair Trade Certification.

Lonza’s Carnipure l-carnitine ingredient is now included in Gaspari Nutrition’s new multivitamin/mineral, Anavite. Lonza is based in Allendale, NJ.
