Jay Jacobowitz, owner ofRetail Insights, Brattleboro, VT andWholeFoods’ merchandising editor was awarded with South East Natural Products Association’s (SENPA) President’s Award at this year’s SOHO Expo in Orlando, FL. He was presented the award, which honors individuals who have dedicated 10+ years to the natural products industry. Jacobowitz explained that his interest in healthy foods began at a young age and continued until he graduated college and got a job for a distributor, giving him a passion for working with independent natural products retailers, to whom he dedicates himself to this day.
Tom McMahonhas joinedLinnea Inc., Irvine, CA as sales manager North America. McMahon has 20 years of experience for companies like Tree of Life (KeHE), Lonza and NattoPharma. In this new position, he will be responsible for all aspects of Linnea’s commercial business in the United States and Canada, “specializing in the extraction and purification of plant materials and in the synthesis of fine chemicals to be used in the pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, health-food and cosmetic industries.”
