City of Industry, CA — AIDP and Anagenix have entered into an exclusive license and distribution agreement giving AIDP rights to market Anagenix kiwifruit-based ingredients, Actazin and Livaux. Based in New Zealand, Anagenix focuses on meeting consumer health needs through the scientific discovery of natural bioactives.

“AIDP is thrilled to have signed this digestive health partnership with Anagenix and we will continue to add to the knowledge of the applications for this exciting kiwi-based ingredient line,” says Mark Thurston, president of AIDP. “We are dedicated to science-proven functional ingredients, and we’re very much aligned with Anagenix in this regard.”

Actazin supports bowel function through its natural sources of enzymes, fiber, polyphenols and prebiotics, which are found in cold-pressed powered kiwi fruit concentrate. The enzyme actinadin, which is only found in kiwi fruit, is the ingredient that assists in digesting protein which helps consumers avoid feeling too full after ingesting a meal heavy in protein. The kiwi used in the production of Actazin are locally sourced in New Zealand, non-GMO Project verified, gluten-free and contain no added sugar or preservatives.

Livaux is an oral supplement which supports Faecalibacterium prausnitzii (F.prau). Also derived from kiwifruit, Livaux contains prebiotics that have been shown in studies to assist in regulating bowel movements. In addition, the F. prau makes up over 5% of the intestinal bacterium and having low numbers of F.Prau has been associated with multiple digestive disorders such as celiac disease, chronic constipation, Crohn’s Diseae, IBD and IBS. Because F.prau is sensitive to oxygen, the gut cannot obtain it through supplement probiotics. Livaux also increases the amount of F. prausnitzii in consumers who are functionally constipated.

“I am delighted to have partnered up in the North American market with AIDP, a company that holds the same values and ambition for these products as Anagenix does,” says Chris Johnson, managing director of Anagenix. “We look forward to working together to grow our business in the U.S.”
