Helaina Brings to Market Lactoferrin Technology

Helaina has introduced effera, a human lactoferrin equivalent ingredient. The company says its fermentation platform replicates an equivalent protein to the lactoferrin found in human colostrum and maternal milk. Lactoferrin is a glycoprotein that has been studied for its efforts in supporting a healthy gut barrier and balancing the body’s innate and adaptive immune responses. It also supports a healthy inflammatory response. Clinical studies have demonstrated effera’s ability to replicate the natural function of human lactoferrin.
