Also new in 2018, NOW® Sports products have a new silver label, and third-party certification from Informed Sport, a global quality assurance program for sports nutrition products, suppliers and manufacturers. The program certifies that every batch of a supplement product bearing the
Informed-Sport logo has been tested for banned substances by LGC’s world-class sports anti-doping laboratory.

NOW’s commitment to the natural products channel has been demonstrated since the company was founded by Elwood Richard in 1968. Still owned by the Richard family today, the company sells more than 1,400 natural products, including dietary and herbal supplements, personal care products, essential oils, sports nutrition, and foods. NOW products are distributed in 70 countries around the world, and the company employs more than 1,500 people in North America. NOW operates a cutting-edge manufacturing facility and a separate distribution facility in Bloomingdale, Illinois, a second manufacturing and distribution center in Sparks, Nevada, and a manufacturing facility in Ontario, Canada. Dedicated to the natural food retailer for 50 years, NOW offers many services to help retailers build business, including a comprehensive online training program and an array of free tools designed to help them be more successful. The online retailer training program, NOW® Product-ology, is designed to create experts in the aisle. Retail staff can watch quick and informative training videos, test their progress with quizzes, and earn free NOW products and a completion certificate. Monthly webinars are led by NOW’s nutritionist staff or expert guest speakers.

NOW’s goal is for 100% of its products to contain only non-GMO ingredients. The entire food line is GMO-free, with the majority Non-GMO Project Verified. The vast majority of NOW’s essential oils are also Non-GMO Project Verified. A very high percentage of NOW supplements are Non-GMO Assured, which is NOW’s active process for defining non-GMO products and defined by stringent NOW quality standards, which involves a combination of documentation and testing.

NOW recently launched a partnership with TerraCycle to divert flexible packaging including toothpaste tubes and food pouches from landfills. Consumers will be able to return these items at no charge to TerraCycle for recycling.
