All Honest Tea, Bethesda, MD, bottled tea products will now be Fair Trade Certified, announced the company. By the end of first quarter 2011, all 28 varieties of tea will carry the certification, expanding its already industry-first offerings of Fair Trade bottled teas.

The National Resources Defense Council (NRDC) holds its third annual Growing Green Awards, which distribute $15,000 among winners in several categories. The awards recognize food producers, entrepreneurs and young people for their leadership in the field of sustainable food and agriculture. The non-profit group Humane Farm Animal Care (HFAC) announced that EcoFriendly Foods, Moneta, VA, is now a distributor of Certified Humane Raised and Handled beef, pork and goat. “The company and its staff are dedicated to optimal animal welfare practices.  Owners Bev and Janelle Eggleston are true heroes in what they have done for small farmers in Virginia,” said Adele Douglass, executive director of Humane Farm Animal Care.
