Genexa has been named to Fast Company’s annual list of the World’s Most Innovative Companies for 2022. Genexa makes OTC medicines with the same active ingredients as category leaders, without any of the artificial preservatives, dyes, or sweeteners, and without any common allergens. The list, according to the Fast Company website, showcases 50 companies and their stories, which are “brimming with insights into how organizations can make a meaningful impact—on their own organizations, their industries, and society at large.”

PLT Health Solutions has announced three studies that support its Slendacor Weight Management Complex ingredient. Two pre-clinical studies focused on energy expenditure, and revealed that Slendacor works by controlling fat reserves and increasing thermogenesis. Plus, a human clinical study gave participants a single daily dose of the ingredient, and found that those using Slendacor showed up to a 15.2% increase in resting energy expenditure at Day 7—but unlike many thermogenic ingredients, at no point did heart rate or blood pressure increase.

SunOpta’s ingredient OatGold has been Upcycled Certified by the Upcycled Food Association. OatGold is an oat protein powder for use in baked goods, snacks, dips, and spreads. It is a byproduct of the enzymatic extraction process that SunOpta uses to produce oatbase, the primary ingredient in oatmilk. OatGold has three times the amount of protein as oat flour and is rich in fiber, while being allergen-friendly, neutral tasting, ready-to-eat, vegan, Non-GMO Project Verified, kosher, and certified gluten-free.

Omya has acquired Prima Inter-Chem, a distributor of ingredients and specialty chemicals in Malaysia and Indonesia. The acquisition expands Omya’s presence in Asia Pacific.

Reed’s, Inc. has entered into securities purchase agreements with certain institutional and accredited investors to raise approximately $5.3m in a private placement through the issuance of an aggregate of approximately 18m shares of common stock and warrants to purchase up to an aggregate of approximately 9m shares of common stock. Reed’s intends to use the net proceeds from the offering for working capital and general corporate purposes.

Good Earth is celebrating its 50th anniversary by relaunching two legacy teas: Black Chai and Decaffeinated Lemongrass. Black Chai offers notes of cardamom, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and black pepper. Decaf Lemongrass is based on green tea, blended with lemongrass, mango, peach, and peppermint.
