San Diego, CA—Farmers Insurance Open has selected CV Sciences Inc., makers of PlusCBD Oil, as its first-ever cannabidiol (CBD) sponsor, according to a press release from CV Sciences. The Farmers Insurance Open PGA Golf Tournament will take place from Jan. 23 until Jan. 26 at Torrey Pines Golf Course in San Diego, where CV Sciences will be the official CBD Partner as well as the Presenting Sponsor of the tournament.

CV Sciences will be presenting a booth at The Grove, adjacent to the 18th hole of the South Course at Torrey Pines, with samples of PlusCBD Oil products, information about hemp-derived CBD and prizes for attendees of the tournament.

“We are proud to be the official CBD Partner of the Farmers Insurance Open as this serves as another proof point of our commitment to safe, high-quality products,” said Joseph Dowling, Chief Executive Officer at CV Sciences, in the release.  “We believe both professional and amateur golfers can benefit from PlusCBD Oil products and we look forward to increasing our visibility among the golf community through this sponsorship.”

Some evidence suggests that CBD may promote relaxation and assist in muscle recovery, which would make it ideal for some golfers looking to reduce soreness and pregame jitters, CV Sciences noted in the release. Also, the company said, as of 2018, CBD is no longer on the PGA’s banned substance list, making it a fair choice for golfers.
