Hauppauge, NY—Country Life announced in a press release that the company has been awarded a 2018 Top Workplaces honor by Newsday as the #1 Mid-Sized Company, as well as the Best Managers Award.

The Workplace list is based on anonymous employee feedback gathered through third-party surveys. Energage, provider of technology-based employee engagement tools and, in this case, Newsday’s research partner, sought the opinions of more than 24,000 employees at 116 workplaces in Long Island.

Country Life produces Country Life Vitamins, Desert Essence personal care, and BioChem protein powder. In 2008, Country Life became the first supplement company to be certified as entirely gluten-free. It received Good Manufacturing Practices certification in 2011, and USDA Organic manufacturing certification in 2012.

Wendy Lucas, Country Life’s president, said, “The Newsday awards are a great honor because they truly reflect our commitment to our employees. We have a diverse workforce and we believe in treating everyone equally. It is our employees who make us such a great place to work.”

Doug Claffey, CEO of Energage, said, “Our research shows that organizations that earn the award attract better talent, experience lower turnover, and are better equipped to deliver bottom-line results. Their leaders prioritize and carefully craft a healthy workplace culture that supports employee engagement.”
