Baltimore, MD—Thousands of industry members are expected to flood Baltimore in September for Natural Products Expo East, produced by New Hope Network. With educational and networking events scheduled for September 21–24, this conference is one of the largest East Coast events in the natural products industry.
The 2016 event kicks off with several educational opportunities on Wednesday, Sept. 21, including a Retail Store Tour, an Herb Walk Tour (sponsored by the American Herbal Products Association) and the Natural Products Business School, all for additional fees. Other sessions—like Retail Lunch & Learn, The State of the Supplement Industry and New Opportunities for Growth—are included in the Super Pass. Wednesday also features The Harvest Festival, sponsored by Eden Foods.
Thursday begins with a keynote address from environmentalism and author Paul Hawken and sessions throughout that day and the next cover topics like store education, climate-friendly food, mindful leadership, nutrition science, natural storytelling and more. Friday also offers several exhibitor-presented seminars, including those by Viterra, Natural Factors and +CBDoil. Saturday’s keynote will cover “Growing Communities Through Healthy Food Access,” with speakers Eric Jackson of the Black Yield Institute, Tiffany Welch from the No Boundaries Coalition, and Walter Robb of Whole Foods Market.
Other events to put on your agenda include the Women in Naturals Networking Event (sponsored by Reserveage Nutrition) on Friday, Sept. 23 from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m., and the annual business meeting and awards ceremony of the Natural Products Association on the morning of Wednesday, Sept. 21. WholeFoods Magazine will honor its 2016 Retailer of the Year, PCC Natural Markets, at this ceremony.
Tradeshow hours are 10:00–6:00 on Sept. 22 and 23, and 10:00–4:00 on Sept. 24.
