North Bergen, NJ—In its 2010 year-end report, Vitamin Shoppe, Inc. announced it had a great year with an increase in net sales of 11.4% and the opening of 47 stores.

Rick Markee, Vitamin Shoppe chairman and chief executive officer, announced that the chain of stores will expand further in 2011 with a 10% increase in its store base. He also anticipates that the stores will “drive 4–5% comparable store sales growth through consistent focus on our growth strategy.”

He added, “The fact that we have consistently delivered positive same store growth is an indication of the strength of the Vitamin Shoppe brand and reflects our relentless focus on optimizing the opportunities in our core business.”
