In Memoriam
After a fighting cancer, Rod Ausich, former president of Kemin Health of Des Moines, IA passed away on June 25. Ausich made his mark on the natural health industry by inventing FloraGLO lutein and realizing lutein’s benefits for eye health in fighting age-related macular degeneration. According to Kemin, he pioneered a “new methodology for the development of purified lutein still used at Kemin today.” Ausich had been at Kemin since 1994. Stated Chris Nelson, Ph.D., Kemin Industries president and CEO, “Millions of people have benefited from his work and his legacy will be remembered by many.”
