Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) was awarded the National Championship Trophy by the Natural Products Association (NPA) for his contributions to the success of the natural products industry. Hatch has announced he will not seek re-election this year. Other winners of the 25th annual NPA Awards presented during NPA’s The Big Natural were Dadrion Gaston, Walmart senior director, corporate ethics and compliance, health and wellness product safety and Guru Ramanathan, chief innovation officer and senior VP of GNC. Each received the President’s Award.

John Vernados, VP, global product regulatory compliance, safety and quality at received the NPA Call-of-Duty Award.

Prerna Chatterjee, marketing manager for sustainability, accepted the Novel Ingredient and Science Award for BASF Corp.

Socially Responsible Retailer Award went to Stay Healthy! of Las Vegas. The award was presented to store manager Marge Roman.

Daniel Rosenbaum, former NattoPharma CEO and interim CEO of spin-off Kaydence Pharma, was named permanent CEO of Kaydence and Kietl Ramsøy takes the role of CEO, NattoPharma. He will continue as acting CFO until a replacement has been found. In line with efforts to increase global commercial activities, Christopher Speed has been named NattoPharma SVP global sales and marketing. He comes from Wiley’s Finest Fish Oils, where he served as VP of sales.

Sabinsa founder Muhammed Majeed, PhD was named 2018 NutraChampion in the NutraIngredients Awards, in association with VitaFoods Europe.
