RXBAR Voluntarily Recalls Multiple Varieties Due to Peanut Allergen

RXBAR is voluntarily recalling a variety of flavors due to a potential undeclared peanut allergen, according to a press release.

“Best By” dates range between 1/14/19 and 10/19/19, depending on the variety. A full chart can be found on RXBAR’s website.

Flavors include Apple Cinnamon, Blueberry, and Chocolate Chip, among others. RXBAR Kids flavors affected are Apple Cinnamon Raisin, Berry Blast, Chocolate Chip.

RXBAR identified the potential for peanut in two varieties in December and initiated the recall of those varieties at that time, but are now expanding the recall after receiving consumer contacts regarding allergic reactions to additional varieties, according to the press release.

RXBAR said that the company’s investigation concluded that the issue stems from a specific ingredient from a supplier; the company changed suppliers for that ingredient upon concluding the investigation.
