UNFI is recalling 10oz packages of Woodstock brand frozen Organic Grilled Red Peppers due to the potential for Listeria monocytogenes contamination, according to an announcement posted through FDA.
Listeria can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems.
The product is marked with UPC code 4256301714, lot #60B, and an expiration date of April 2020. It was distributed nationally.
No illnesses have yet been reported. Potential for contamination was noted after routine testing by the Rhode Island Department of Health found Listeria in the lot. Production has been suspended, pending investigation.
Consumers are urged to dispose of the product properly and can contact firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions.
