Walmart is partnering with Buzzfeed’s app Tasty aiming to attract new customers and millennial shoppers by linking to products in their videos. On Facebook, Tasty has nearly 91 million followers and their recipe videos have more than 65 billion views.
Products that will be featured in the videos available to purchase include pots and pans, bakeware and other kitchen tools that will link directly to Walmart.com and Jet.com. In the coming months there are plans to link food and ingredients to purchase as well.
In an interview with Business Insider, Walmart’s vice president of e-commerce, mobile, and digital marketing, Sumaiya Balbale, said Walmart is inspired by how Tasty is redefining the way people find recipes and acknowledges how consumer shopping trends have changed drastically. They hope this partnership will reach new customers in a deeper way.
This marks the first time Walmart and Jet.com are coming together in a media outlet for an exclusive partnership.
