What’s Selling is our monthly review of what retailers from all over the country say is selling well in their stores. This month, we’ve compiled all of the data since June to see what is popular so far in 2012.

By region, the Southeast showed an increase in oil sales, magnesium, shark and sea buckthorn, as well as omega-3 chia seeds. The Southwest stocked up on lozenges and lip balms, and drank an abundance of flavored coconut waters. The West bought the most lotions, for babies and adults, as well as shampoo and conditioner, green coffee bean and energy drinks. The Northwest went gluten-free and bought the most raspberry ketones and weight-loss aids. The Northeast went in a similar direction, selling the most sports nutrition products of all the regions as well as juices (carrot, orange and cherry) and milks (coconut, almond and goat). The Midwest looked to thyroid support aids and bulk items, such as berries, nuts and seeds.

Overall, there was a continued rise in coconut food products, raspberry ketone supplements and natural sunscreens, while natural sodas, kombucha, energy bars/drinks, probiotics and resveratrol/anti-aging products kept their steady holds on the market. WF
