Weehawken, NJ—VMC Products for Health Inc. has announced a new partnership with Lallemand Specialty Cultures (LSC), a division of Lallemand Inc., now that LSC has acquired Yogourmet: VMC will remain the U.S. distributor of Yogourmet, as they have since 1986, according to a press release.

Manufacturing has moved to France at one of Lallemand’s plants, a transition expected to alleviate previous supply and logistical issues that were magnified by the COVID-19 pandemic. While the quality and taste of the products will remain the same, the packaging will be updated. The new look will be released shortly with the goal of increasing product visibility to attract customers.

“We are excited about this new partnership with LSC,” said Alan Cheung, Director of Operations of VMC, in a press release. “VMC and Lallemand have been strategic partners since the late 1970s, so we are very familiar with one another. LSC understands and respects the history of our products and will continue to manufacture to the highest standards. We have the utmost confidence that as they take over production, many of the supply chain delays we suffered due to the pandemic will be handled quickly and efficiently. To that end, our customers can be assured that by April 1, 2021, Yogourmet will be fully back in stock and ready to ship across the country.”

“Consumer well-being is at the core of our mission,” added Lauriane Fillous, President and General Manager of LSC. “Homemade yogurt and kefir cultures are a natural continuity of our portfolio, and we are looking forward to Yogourmet becoming a flagship for LSC.”
