The Natural Institute of Health’s Office of Dietary Supplements published the Encyclopedia of Dietary Supplements, 2nd Edition. This text offers several new peer-reviewed chapters on herbs such as aloe vera, bilberry, bitter orange, black cohosh, kava and saw palmetto, according to the American Herbal Products Association (AHPA). Available information includes “the latest data, its chemistry and functions, pre-clinical and clinical literature, regulatory status and references to relevant literature,” says AHPA, who contributed to the encyclopedia. Los Angeles, CA-based Activate donated 25 cents from every bottle of its vitamin-enhanced water sold from July 21 to August 17 at Ralphs grocery stores in Southern California to Vitamin Angels.
