Orlando, FL—The 2010 SOHO Expo, celebrating 39 years, was held during the first weekend of December. The Expo was sponsored by the Southeast Natural Products Association (SENPA), and hosted over 2,600 attendees of the natural products industry. SOHO event organizers confirmed that retailer attendance was up from last year’s conference.
Attendees experienced about 22 hours of educational programs with 24 different speakers offering up-to-date information on nutrition and business from experts in the field. Topics ranged from sports nutrition, to breakthroughs in homeopathy, to gut health and many more. In the exhibit hall, 304 companies offered information about their latest new products and other company offerings. The attendees took advantage of seeing the latest and most recent products out and purchasing them at a discounted price.
Peggy Ranger, former SENPA president, stepped down and gave the gavel over to Ben Henderson of Bare Essentials Natural Market in Boone, NC. The annual President’s award, selected by the current SE President and approved by the board, was announced during the expo. This year the award was given to Natural Factors during the President’s Reception. The award is usually given to an outstanding individual or company in the natural products industry who is either currently a member or who has been a past member of the NPA.
Stated Natural Factors, "The President’s Award was a significant public acknowledgment of the contribution Natural Factors has made, and continues to make, to the natural products industry. As a company, we pride ourselves on doing business with integrity and investing in people, science and technology to create natural health formulas that are safe, reliable and effective."
