Washington, D.C.— The Council for Responsible Nutrition Foundation (CRNF), through its “Life…supplemented campaign,” has launched a free mobile application for consumers with iPhones and iPads.
The WannaBeWell app has several unique features that can be customized to keep users on track with their health and wellness goals. Stated Judy Blatman, senior vice president, communications, Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN), “It’s an at-your-fingertips health and wellness resource that brings convenience to the crucial wellness decisions consumers make on a daily basis.”
One unique feature off the app is the ability to create a personalized wellness coach (complete with a user-selected avatar) that sends daily motivational and educational messages. Users can collect “trophies” for keeping on task and accomplishing goals.
Another way to use the device is to set reminders to re-purchase a supplement that one is taking or to access the Supplement Resource Center for information about specific nutrients. The database comprises thousands of articles.
A donation of $1.00 for each download will be give to Vitamin Angels, with a maximum cumulative gift of $13,500. Vitamin Angels provides access to essential micronutrients, especially vitamin A, among at-risk populations.
