New York, NY—The American Conference Institute’s 3rd Annual Legal, Regulatory and Compliance Forum on Dietary Supplements is taking place from June 24–25 in New York, NY.

Co-chaired by Scott Bass, partner and head at Global Life Services, and Steve Mister, president and CEO of the Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN), the Forum’s goal is to inform attendees about the latest legal and regulatory developments on dietary supplements. Here are some pre-show highlights.

While the main conference begins on the 24th, the day before has a special “Dietary Supplements International Boot Camp” led by Thomas A. Cohn, deputy general counsel, regulatory, NBTY Inc., and Fredrick A. Stearns, partner at Keller and Heckman LLP. This working group serves as a primer for those looking to learn more about the status and regulations surrounding dietary supplements both in the U.S. and abroad.

On the 24th, after opening remarks from the co-chairs, panel discussions will take place including the “Dietary Supplements and the State of the Union,” GMPs, recent FTC court cases, developing clinicals for supplements, intellectural property and “In The Crosshairs,” a retrospective on the recent New York Attorney General‘s investigation and its fallout with speakers from NSF, CRN and Amway R&D.

On Day 2, panel topics include FDA rulemaking and the supplements industry, establishing guildelines for the term ‘natural,’ class action lawsuits and more.
