Xylitol is a white crystalline substance that looks and tastes like sugar. It is a naturally occurring five-carbon polyol (sugar alcohol) found in many natural sources and is produced in small amounts by the human body. For commercial use, it is manufactured from xylan hemicellulose sources such as birch trees, cane bagasse and corncobs/ stalks. It is the sweetest of the polyols with the same sweetness as sugar (sucrose), but with 40% fewer calories and none of the negative tooth decay or insulin release effects of sugar.

Xlear Nasal Spray. What’s New?

Xlear recently introduced its Strawberry –Banana flavored Spry Tooth Gel. The gel is sweetened with 100% xylitol, an allnatural sweetener that may reduce the risk of tooth decay. The gel was developed for children ages three months and up and can be used for application on their teeth and gums to help promote good oral care at an early age. Xlear has partnered with Live-Right, the maker of the Baby Banana Brush, to offer a combo kit that includes the Baby Banana Brush and Strawberry- Banana flavored Spry Tooth Gel.
