Chicago, IL—The Institute of Food Technologists (IFT) is slated to have its Annual Meeting and Food Expo in Chicago this year, July 13–16.
The educational program features 100 sessions and 1,200 poster presentations on various topics, including childhood obesity, gluten-free product development, food safety, sodium reduction and more. Author and CNN host Fareed Zakaria will deliver the keynote address on July 14, while key lecturers during the event include Catherine Geslain-Lanéelle, executive director of the European Food Safety Authority, David W. Robson, head of energy and environmental foresight for the Scottish Government, and Mark J. Manary, a physician, researcher and professor, who wants to eradicate childhood malnutrition in Africa.
This year, IFT is rolling out a Live Stream feature, several new courses and the Cooking Up Science recipe demonstration/competition. As in years past, a large tradeshow floor is anticipated, this year with about 1,200 exhibitors.
