Lakewood, CO—Natural Grocers is gearing up to celebrate its 68th anniversary. The three-day celebration, August 17-19, will feature freebies, sweepstakes, and more. The natural grocery retailer is the largest family-operated organic and grocery retailer in the U.S., promoting health, wellness, and sustainable living.
Customers are invited to join the celebration. On August 17, all Natural Grocers stores will host the annual in-store Ice Cream Social. Customers will receive a free Alden’s Organic frozen desert. Savings of up to 60% off will be available on more than 900 products, including both national and store brands.
For those who are hoping to win big, prizes total over $130,000. The prize list includes:
- Tesla Model 3, or $47,000 in cash, courtesy of C20 Pure Coconut Water and Steaz
- Trip to Norway, valued at $11,000, courtesy of Nordic Naturals

To enter the sweepstakes, customers can fill out the Anniversary Sweepstakes form available at all Natural Grocers locations.
Customers can also win a $500 Natural Grocers gift card by counting purple balloon animal dogs.
The balloon dogs will be scattered through the pages of the August good4u Health Hotline magazine, available in all stores. Those who guess correctly, will be entered into a drawing, where one winner will be selected.
The company is also encouraging customers to follow along on TikTok and Instagram, where more prizes will be available such as a $500 Grocery Shopping Spree Giveaway and 3 $100 Gift Cards Giveaway.
Members of the grocers {N}power, Natural Grocers' free loyalty program, will be able to claim free Natural Grocers Brand Organic Chocolate and a Free Limited-Edition Reusable Shopping Bag. The reusable bag will be available on August 17, while the chocolate promotion will run all three days.
As part of their anniversary celebration, Natural Grocers will donate 1% of all sales on Thursday, August 17, to the Natural Grocers Aprons Fund. The Heroes in Aprons Fund was established in 2021, as a non-profit organization providing financial relief to eligible Natural Grocers good4u Crew members, who are experiencing hardships to circumstances beyond their control.
