ASTAXANTHIN
Jarrow launches Astaxanthin, containing the BioAstin form of this natural antioxidant. Available in a 60-softgel bottle, the product is said to support eye health and joint health, promote a healthy inflammatory response and support skin during sun exposure. According to tests completed at Creighton University, astaxanthin is superior to vitamins C and E, as well as green tea in terms of antioxidant activity.
ALPHA LIPOIC ACID
BioEnhanced R-Alpha Lipoic Acid is now available from Jarrow Formulas. This supplement is said to offer advantages over previous R-Alpha Lipoic Acid products because it is heat and shelf stable. Says Dallas Clouatre, Jarrow Formulas’ product development consultant, “Alpha Lipoic Acid powerfully supports the body’s production of its own antioxidants, such as glutathione, as well as contributing to proper insulin metabolism and the regulation of other systems important to maintaining health, especially as we age.”
