Silver Spring, MD—Following requests from multiple manufacturers and industry groups, including the American Herbal Products Association(AHPA), FDA will exercise enforcement discretion with regard to the Nutrition Facts Label changes for six months following the January 1, 2020, deadline.

Specifically, according to aQ&A section on FDA’s site, “During the first 6 months following the January 1, 2020, compliance date, FDA plans to work cooperatively with manufacturers to meet the new Nutrition Facts label requirements and will not focus on enforcement actions regarding these requirements during that time.”

AHPA noted in a press release that it has awebinarbeing presented on October 29 and an updated version of its guidance document ondietary supplement labeling requirementsto help members understand and comply with the new labeling requirements.
