Norman Salem, Jr., Ph.D., is a leading researcher on DHA omega-3s and the physiological functions of polyunsaturated fatty acids and lipids, the release says. He directed the Laboratory of Membrane Biochemistry and Biophysics at the National Institutes of Health and was Chief Scientific Officer at Martek Biosciences, now part of DSM.Olav Sandnes co-founded Marine Ingredients in 1982, and was a founding member of the Omega-3 Working Group at the Council for Responsible Nutrition, which eventually became GOED. He was a member of GOED’s board for 13 years. In 2016, Marine Ingredients merged with KD Pharma, to become the third largest omega-3 supplier worldwide.
