The program provides low-income consumers with a monetary incentive to spend federal nutrition benefit dollars at participating farmers markets.

A recapitalization and change of leadership and control has taken place at Brad’s Raw Chips, Pipersville, PA. An investor group led by CEO of Pergament Advisors, LLC, Arthur J. Pergament, and Pergament LOHAS Fund, LLC, is taking over for founder Brad Gruno. Pergament has invested in the company’s growth and made several new hires.

A Certified Grassfed program is now available to farmers and ranchers through Animal Welfare Approved. The group says its certification is the only one in the United States and Canada to require a 100% grassfed and forage diet, environmental management, farm animal welfare and high-welfare handling, transport, and slaughter of animals, including an annual review of slaughter facilities.

Shriners Hospitals for Children announced that its newest “Love to the rescue” partner is Enjoy Life Foods, Schiller Park, IL. The company, recently acquired by Mondelez International, will help raise awareness of the hospital’s mission through Walk for LOVE, a series of community walks and family festivals held across the country.
