Indianapolis, IN-based Endangered Species Chocolates (ESC) announced its 2016–2018 10% Giveback Partners: Rainforest Trust and Wildlife Conservation Network. These organizations will receive 10% of ESC’s annual net profits or a minimum yearly donation of $10,000, whichever is greater. The Giveback program will help Rainforest Trust in its goal to preserve 20 million acres of rainforest by 2020 and Wildlife Conservation Network in its fight against elephant poaching.
The Specialty Food Foundation of New York, NY, is granting a total of $400,000 to 23 organizations in 14 states, working to break the cycle of hunger across the United States. Established in 2014, this is the foundation’s second round of grants, the first of which totaled $250,000 to 14 recipients. “Hunger and food waste are twin problems in our society, and these organizations are addressing them in creative ways in their communities. These grants will help them refine and expand their important work,” says Ron Tanner, vice president, philanthropy, government and industry relations for the Specialty Food Foundation. 100% of their donations are used for grant making.
