Portland, OR--Lilly’s Foods is leading a sustainable packaging initiative for all of their hummus and salsa products, making them out of 100% recyclable material, including the labels and tubs, according to a press release.
The release states that Lilly’s made the decision to use only recyclable materials because of their commitment to the health of their consumers and the planet. The release cites Nielsen data showing that 60% of North American consumers are concerned about packaging waste, and that between that data and the fact that Lilly's is a brand committed to organic, non-GMO hummus, "the packaging transition was a clear next step."
Lilly Miscoe, Lilly’s Foods founder, said in the release, “Lilly’s Foods has always valued sustainability on par with organic ingredients and flavorful varieties. By offering 100% recyclable packaging, we are fulfilling our mission of offering foods that are delicious, good for you and good for our earth, as well. We care a great deal about nourishing the lives of our consumers, overall – earth, body and soul.”
