A press release states that all products in the line will be grown, procured, cleaned, and processed by CGI. The company will sell the products for domestic food and pet food markets, as well as for export.
Products will include peas, lentils, chickpeas, and dry beans.

The facility has a 60,000 sq. ft. processing building and a capacity of 286,000 bushels. CGI anticipates processing over 50,000 MT of pulses per year at the location. The facility is served by both the BNSF and the UP railroad lines, providing access to both domestic and global markets.Jeff Van Pevenage, President and CEO of CGI, said in the press release: “The Hastings, NE facility will provide a consistent market and opportunity for expansion to pulse producers in South Dakota, Nebraska, Colorado, Wyoming, and Kansas.
