Company Description
Alpha Packaging is a manufacturer of polyethylene terephthalate (PET), high-density polyethylene (HDPE), polypropylene (PP) and polylactic acid (PLA) bottles and jars for the nutritional supplement, pharmaceutical, niche food and beverage, household chemical and personal care industries. All of the resins, colorants and other additives used in our manufacturing process are FDA approved. We have seven manufacturing plants strategically located across North America, one plant in the Netherlands, and a state-of-the-art container decorating facility in Winona, Minnesota. We are a leading supplier of packaging to companies in the natural products industry, and have been working closely with these companies for two decades to develop environmentally responsible packaging that protects their products’ integrity on retail shelves.
As a leader in PET vitamin bottles and personal care packaging, Alpha Packaging’s North American branches have developed a reputation for excellent quality, flexible scheduling and reasonable lead times. Our new plant in the Netherlands is focused on providing the same high quality and flexibility to European customers. If you are interested in using recycled PET or HDPE in your bottles, we can make bottles with up to 100% post-consumer (recycled) content.
Key Market Areas
Alpha’s primary focus is rigid plastic bottles and jars for the nutritional supplement, pharmaceutical and personal care industries. We also manufacture packaging for the food and beverage markets, as well as household chemicals, automotive chemicals and pet products.
Major Products/Service Offerings
Sizes range from 0.5 ounce to two gallons, and include styles ideal for tablets and capsules; powders and granules; and liquids and lotions. We offer over 900 stock styles of HDPE and PET packaging, and can also help customers with custom designs using our in-house design and engineering capabilities. Alpha is known for custom-colored PET packaging, and we offer high-quality, environmentally friendly container decorating through our Technigraph division.
What’s New
When we acquired Progressive Plastics in late 2010, Alpha Packaging added a wide variety of two-stage PET stock bottles in segments we did not previously serve. Now, to support our customers in all parts of North America, we are expanding the number of plant locations at which we can run these types of two-stage PET bottles.
Currently, we have Reheat and Blow machines located in Cleveland, Jacksonville and Salt Lake City—and we also have additional machines that could be moved to any of our plants for substantial volume commitments. Not only can we run any of the existing stock two-stage PET bottles on those machines, but we can also use the same preforms for inexpensive custom molds. Alpha’s two-stage capabilities and library of preforms are ideal for condiments and sauces; personal care; automotive; household; and food and beverage.
We have also expanded our line of PET Indented Label Large Packers that are ideal for powdered products that require scoops or spoons. With the most recent addition of a 5,000-cc size, Alpha Packaging now offers the most complete line of sizes ranging from half-gallon to two gallons. All of Alpha’s PET Indented Label Large Packers are manufactured using a single-stage blow molding process. Standard colors are clear, white, cobalt blue, dark green, light amber and dark amber. Bottles are available with low minimums for standard colors; custom colors require a minimum of 10,000 pieces with a $500 purge charge, or Alpha will waive the purge charge for orders of 50,000 pieces or more.
