Morristown, NJ —Frost & Sullivan’s 2017 North American Product Leadership Award went to OmniActive Health Technologies for its Lutemax 2020, which contains a combination of the three macular carotenoids (lutein, RR-zeaxanthin, and RS [meso]- zeaxanthin) that support visual function and overall eye health as well as skin and brain wellness.

Frost & Sullivan works with clients to influence innovations that confront global challenges. Each year the firm presents the award to a company that has created a product with rapid market acceptance and innovative features and functionality.

OmniActive Health Technologies’ proprietary product, Lutemax 2020, tackles industry challenges by providing eye, skin, and brain health benefits from a single ingredient, according to Frost & Sullivan's analysis of the eye health industry. "OmniActive continues to broaden its scientific substantiation on eye health ingredients and focuses on new studies that support bioavailability, visual function, and emphasize the benefits of macular carotenoids to support visual function," Frost & Sullivan said.

Today, human eyesight is negatively impacted by prolonged exposure to high-energy blue-light from computers/screens, hectic schedules, and exposure to toxic materials that are common in consumer lifestyles. Because of this, ophthalmologists and consumers seek proactive eye care health maintenance through eye health supplements.

Macular carotenoid supplement use is currently limited. However, consumers are beginning to understand the health benefits of macular carotenoids - the pigments responsible for the yellow and red color in plants.

The eye health supplement market is prepared for an increase in growth. OmniActive plans to broaden the appeal and market opportunities for macular carotenoid through formula development and clinical research, sustainable farming and vertically integrated manufacturing, and consumer research and educational outreach, Frost & Sullivan noted in recognizing the company.
