A German consumer research organization called GfK found that L-carnitine and its health benefits are well known by 43% of consumers surveyed. Some 39% knew that L-carnitine benefits weight management; of those that take the supplement, 59% use it for weight management, 33% for exercise and 10% for cardiovascular health. The survey of 1,000 consumers was commissioned by Lonza Ltd. of Switzerland, distributor of Carnipure L-carnitine.
