Akron, OH–Phillip Nabors, who co-founded Mustard Seed Market & Café with his wife Margaret in 1981, is stepping down as CEO and passing the family torch to sons Gabe and Abraham, according to a press release.

Having previously served as director of marketing and category management, Gabe has been named CEO. Gabe began working at Mustard Seed in 2001, learning the financial side of the business.

Abraham will continue his role as director of education and standards, a position he’s held since 1996. His goal dovetails with the business’s core mission: providing healthy food and education to support a healthy lifestyle.

“Both Margaret and I have dreamed of our kids taking over the family business,” said Phillip Nabors. “We are pleased and proud that they have both embraced this work and that they share our commitment to supporting our community.”
