Phoenix, AZ—Continuing its recent growth boom, Sprouts Farmers Market opened three new stores in three different states on June 5: The location in Marlton, NJ, is the first Sprouts in the state, and new opening in Mesa, AZ and San Jose, CA aim to meet “the growing local demand” for fresh, natural, organic food.
By the end of this year, Sprouts will operate in 22 states, including the new markets of New Jersey, Virginia and Louisiana, the company announced in a press release. To support the growth in 2019, which comes after Sprouts created 3,500 new jobs in 2018 and promoted 28% of store team members, local Sprouts stores will be hosting walk-in interviews during a National Hiring Day event on Tuesday, June 11 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. The interview day will be held across more than 300 stores from coast to coast. (Sprouts stores in North Carolina, South Carolina, Pennsylvania, Maryland, New Jersey and Yuma, Ariz. are not participating.)
“As our stores and workforce grow from coast to coast, our team members are instrumental in helping increase awareness of Sprouts and our unique products that make it easy for everyday shoppers to live a healthy lifestyle,” said Timmi Zalatoris, VP of human resources, in the release. “With job opportunities in a variety of departments across the store, Sprouts is a great place to learn and grow a career.”

More good news from Sprouts: All edible unsold groceries from the three newly opened stores will be donated through Sprouts’ Food Rescue program: to Food Bank of South Jersey, United Food Bank, and Second Harvest Food Bank of Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties, respectively. Food no longer fit for human use is donated to local cattle ranches and dairy farms as cattle feed, or as compost. In 2018, the grocer donated 27 million pounds of product.
