Chicago, IL — Avure Technologies, Inc. has been acquired by JBT Corporation for $57 million prior to after close adjustments. Avure Technologies is known for creating High Pressure Processing (HPP) systems globally for large food manufacturers and tolling centers. JBT Corporation is involved with customer solutions in a wide range of areas, encompassing areas not limited to chilling, cooking, blending, weighing, filling, portioning and sorting. Both companies are leaders in food processing solutions and by acquiring Avure Technologies, JBT Corporation will be expanding its fresh, quality beverages and foods clean label solutions to expand the shelf life of its products.

The HPP utilized by Avure Technologies implements ultra-high pressure water which keeps packaged food fresh longer by keeping it pathogen-free. pathogens such as E. Coli, Listeria and Salmonella are inactivated when exposed to very high pressure. Ready-made foods such as meals, meats, fruits and vegetables benefit from the HPP process. Dairy products, seafood including shellfish, dips and wet salads can also be kept fresher and safer using HPP.
