We recentlyreported that U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) was contemplating extending the deadline for updated the Nutrition Facts Label. Now, according to aconstituent update, solid new dates have been proposed and a comment period has been opened to be active for the next 30 days. The new deadlines, says the update, would be extended from July 26, 2018 to January 1, 2020 for manufacturers with $10 million or more in annual food sales. Those with less than $10 million in annual food sales get an extra year to comply—until Jan. 1, 2021.

It should be noted that until this rulemaking is finalized, FDA intends to exercise enforcement discretion with respect to the current July 26, 2018, and July 26, 2019, compliance dates.
