Pete Plamann is the new president of Scottsdale, AZ- based Styr Labs, an AI-based personalized nutrition company. He was most recently VP of innovation wellness solutions at UnitedHealthcare. Former Virgo CEO John Siefert was named CMO.

Jill Staib joins William Hood & Company as a director based in New York. She had been VP of strategic initiatives for The Nature’s Bounty Co. where her global role focused on M&A, corporate development and growth strategy. During her tenure at Nature’s Bounty Co. she also held various operating leadership roles including managing the Nature’s Bounty, Pure Protein, Body Fortress and Met-Rx brands, as well as the company’s private label business.

Sarah Martin was named Chief Scientific Officer for Naturex and will work from the company’s headquarters in Avignon, France. She had been with DuPont Nutrition Biosciences.

Mary Karpati was named southwest region sales manager for functional ingredients supplier Beneo, Inc. This is an expansion of its NAFTA sales and support team. Karpati had been regional sales manager at JM Swank LLC.

Kevin Farr joined Irvine, CA-based ChromaDex as new CFO. He had been EVP and CFO at Mattel, Inc. His global brand experience includes American Girl, Fisher-Price, Hot Wheels and Thomas & Friends. ChromaDex’s flagship consumer product is TRU NIAGEN.

The Council for Responsible Nutrition appointed to its Supplement OWL advisory board: Jeff Brams, general counsel and VP, science and international, Garden of Life; Michael Cleary, Ph.D., director of research and development, SmartyPants; Mike Devereux, CEO, Nature’s Way; Randy King, SVP, governance and compliance, New Chapter, Inc.; Carlotta Mast, executive director of content and insights, New Hope Natural Media; Steve Mister, president and CEO, CRN; Guru Ramanathan, Ph.D., chief innovation officer and SVP, GNC; Pam Walker, head of global sales, materials and ingredients, UL.
