Mustard Seed Market announced the January 24, 2020, departure of Jon Fiume, COO, and the welcoming of Gabe Nabors as new CEO. “I am extremely grateful for my tenure at Mustard Seed,” Fiume said in a release. “It has been an incredible personal growth experience and nothing has been more rewarding than serving our associates and customers. However, after much reflection, the time has come for me to seek my next growth opportunity and to officially turn over the reins to Gabe Nabors, Chief Executive Officer, and the other members of the leadership team. The company is in a great position and will be in good hands to carry Mustard Seed’s mission and values forward.”

The Natural Products Association (NPA) announced that former FDA official Sibyl Swift, Ph.D., will be the association’s new SVP for Scientific and Regulatory Affairs. Dr. Swift most recently held the position of Associate Director for Research and Strategy at the Office of Dietary Supplement Programs. She also co-chaired the Steering Team for the Botanical Safety Consortium. In her role at NPA, Dr. Swift will be responsible for the development and implementation of the association’s educational, regulatory, and compliance programs and efforts, such as SSCI.

CV Sciences, Inc. has announced Tim Hitchman, Ph.D., as Director of Operations. Hitchman previously worked as Chief Technology Officer at Tradewinds Holding LLC, Innovation Director Growth Platforms and Project Director for the DSM Nutritional Products Group, and in a variety of roles at Verenium Corporation.

Organic Farmers Association named Patty Lovera as its new Policy Director. She will work with OFA’s elected Policy Committee, and facilitate the annual grassroots policy development process, where all U.S. certified organic farmers are invited to submit policy priorities and policy positions for the Policy Committee’s review, and ultimately OFA farmer members’ vote.

Dr. Bronner’s has announced the promotion of Christina Volgyesi as Vice President of Marketing, and Sharla Pierick as Vice President of Finance. Volgyesi began working for Dr. Bronner’s in 2010 after serving as President of Living Harvest. She has helped execute Hemp History Week, Fair Pay Today, and Heal Earth education campaigns. Pierick began her career at Dr. Bronner’s in 2006 and has since expanded the company’s financial reporting and accounting systems.

Sovereign Silver has appointed James “Ace” Kindel as their new General Manager. With over 30 years of experience in dietary supplements, Kindel will be responsible for growing both the Sovereign Silver brand and the Argentyn 23 professional line.

Braxton Wright has joined Chemi Nutra as Sales Manager. He will be responsible for developing and growing the company’s U.S. and global business.

Drake’s Organic Spirits has announced James C. Allen as chairman of their board. Allen, with over 40 years of experience in the beverage and hospitality industry, previously worked for Southern Wine & Spirits of America, Inc.

Mayorga Organics announced three personnel changes: the promotion of Erin Dall to President and COO, Jenaee Powell as CFO of all U.S. operations, and Martin Mayorga as CEO. Dall will oversee all U.S. operations with Jenaee Powell. Martin Mayorga will oversee all of Mayorga’s operations in the U.S. and Latin America.

Rich Clark is the new VP of Sales for Hälsa Foods. Clark previously worked as an executive team member for Perfect Snacks and Udi’s Gluten Free in addition to working with Hain Celestial, Beyond Meat, and Mighty Leaf Tea.

Gadot Biochemical Industries announced the reopening of its European office, located in Amsterdam and serving all of Europe. Tim van de Gehuchte has been appointed as the Head of Sales for the European market.
