Guelph, ON—Nutrasource Pharmaceutical and Nutraceutical Services announced its membership into the National Animal Supplement Council (NASC) as a Preferred Supplier. As explained in a press release, Preferred Suppliers are companies that are pre-qualified to supply products and services to NASC Primary Suppliers without additional vendor qualifications that fall under NASC cGMPS.
“NASC sets the bar high for our Preferred Supplier program and we are pleased to welcome Nutrasource as the newest member of the program,” said Bill Bookout, NASC President, in the release. “Nutrasource is a proven leader in helping customers find solutions across the product development spectrum and we believe they will be a trusted partner for NASC members.”
As WholeFoods has reported, pet ownership has surged during the pandemic. Nutrasource pointed to this surge as a factor driving increased interest and focus on pet and animal health.
“The market for pet foods and dietary supplements continues to expand and now, more companies are looking to therapeutic claims to differentiate themselves,” said Will Rowe, President and CEO of Nutrasource. “It is important for Nutrasource to align with the NASC as health products intended for pets must meet compliance requirements for ingredient content, product claims, and risk to animal health as directed and regulated by Health Canada and the FDA in the U.S.”
